Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your purchase and use of PawTimes' paid digital content on pawtimes.press. Please read them before you order — especially the sections on auto-renewal and refunds.
1. Who is selling to you
This site is operated by 爪爪报业 PawTimes Press (the "Desk"). Contact details are at the end of this page.
We use Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle", Paddle.net) as our merchant of record: Paddle takes your payment, issues invoices, collects and remits sales tax/VAT, and handles refunds and chargebacks. Your bank or card statement will show PADDLE.NET* PAWTIMES.
Paddle's buyer terms therefore also apply to your purchase; for payment, tax and refund processing, Paddle's rules prevail.
2. What we sell
PawTimes is a fictional, satirical newspaper (see the satire notice in the footer). What we sell is digital content — no physical goods, no shipping.
① Membership (monthly or yearly, auto-renewing): full web text of every Weekly and Special issue, plus the print-ready A4 PDF of each issue. ② The Annual Collection (sold per volume, one volume per year): a year of work bound into one volume, delivered as PDF / EPUB; a single purchase is yours permanently. ③ The PawTimes Daily — briefs, the lead, city notices, the whole issue on the web — is free forever.
Delivery: subscriptions and single volumes activate automatically once payment completes (usually within seconds), and member content unlocks immediately. The Annual Collection is downloadable in the Annual Collection section once it is bound at year-end. If anything fails to arrive, write to us and we will deliver it manually.
3. Pricing, tax and payment
Displayed prices vary by language and region; the price shown at Paddle checkout is final, and Paddle calculates and collects applicable taxes based on your billing address.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel, change card or fetch invoices any time under Account → Manage subscription (Paddle's hosted portal). After cancelling you keep access until the end of the paid period.
Single-volume purchases are one-off payments with no auto-renewal.
We may change prices; changes never affect a period you have already paid for.
4. Your account
An email address is all you need. Keep your password safe. One email, one account; membership benefits are not transferable or shareable.
You can change your email or password in your account, and manage payment methods in Paddle's portal. Deleting your account and data is described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Licence and limits
You receive a personal, non-commercial licence to read and keep the content: read it, print it, save it offline on your own devices.
Not permitted: reselling or redistributing paid content, bulk scraping, uploading paid content to public channels, removing copyright notices, or presenting our fiction as fact or using it to mislead.
Quoting is welcome — cite "PawTimes" and link to the original. Republishing or translating a whole piece needs written permission.
6. Refunds
Memberships are fully refundable within 14 days, no questions asked (matching Paddle's 14-day withdrawal right); the Annual Collection is fully refundable before delivery. See the Refund Policy for the full rules and timings.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the site up, but maintenance, upgrades or events beyond our control may interrupt it briefly. For long interruptions we will make it right, for example by extending your membership.
Sections, schedules and formats may change. Within a period you have paid for, the core deliverables (full Weekly and Special issues and their PDFs, that year's Collection) will not be reduced.
8. Disclaimer and liability
Our content is fiction and satire, not medical, legal, investment or veterinary advice — please do not act on it professionally. Real events are fictionalised; people and institutions are invented.
To the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any purchase is capped at the amount you actually paid for that product in the past 12 months. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Mandatory consumer rights in your jurisdiction are unaffected.
9. Termination
If you seriously breach these terms (reselling, piracy, attacking the site, abusing refunds) we may suspend or close your account; unused membership time is handled under the Refund Policy. You may stop using the service and cancel at any time.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Desk's place of business. Please write to us first (contact below); if we cannot settle it, the courts at the Desk's place of business have jurisdiction. Your mandatory consumer rights where you live are unaffected.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the new version appears on this page with a "last updated" note. Material changes are announced on the site, and continued use means acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the service — unused paid time is handled under the Refund Policy.
